Condition

This print is in generally excellent condition. As is typical of such Polaroid prints, there is an unevenness in the overall glossy surface. There is light soiling in the margin and on the reverse is also visible. The lower margin is numbered '55 M' and '#34' in ink. On the reverse of the print, in black and red inks, Adams filled in the printing information stamp: Film '55'; Devel '25' @ '68'; Date '2-16-61'; Remarks '#34'. Karen Haas's and Rebecca Senf's book, 'Ansel Adams in the Lane Collection,' publishes the most comprehensive list to date of the studio stamps and labels Adams used throughout his career. The stamps on the reverse of the print and on the inside of the mat are not recorded in Haas's and Senf's book.
