Condition

These Polacolor prints are in generally excellent condition except as noted. Although the colors appear rich and saturated, there are thin ¼- to ½-inch areas of color shifts at the periphery of the images, perhaps where a previous mat covered the prints. Left print: There are tack holes in the upper margin corners and the lower corners are creased. The lower edge of the print is unevenly trimmed, as is customary with large-format Polaroid prints, and there are thin strips of paper tape that run across the upper and lower edges. In high raking light, the following are visible: 2 ¼- to ½-inch vertical creases that do not break the emulsion in the upper left quadrant of the image and above the dog's right eye; and a few minor, matte disturbances to the overall glossy surface. The reverse of the print is annotated 'C' (circled) and 'WW-1157a' (twice) in pencil. Right: The lower edge of the print is unevenly trimmed, as is customary with large-format Polaroid prints, and there are thin paper tape strips along the upper and lower edges that run the width of the print. There are 2 ½- to one-inch vertical creases that do not break the emulsion above the dog's right eye and in the lower left quadrant of the image. The lower left corner of the print is creased and there is a small chip to the lower left edge of the print. Upon close examination, a few small scratches and fingerprints are visible, as is a long linear scratch, that does not break the emulsion, along the upper edge of the image. The reverse of the print is annotated 'C' (circled) and 'WW-1157b' (twice) in pencil.
