Condition

These unique Polaroid prints are in generally excellent condition. In raking light, pitting is often visible on the black-and-white prints and there is occasional crackling in the emulsion in the margin or edge of the image of the color prints. Tree on Cliff (97:640:35) - This print appears to have faded somewhat. Surf and Cliffs (66:640:20) - The bottom left margin corner is bent. Rocks and Surf (66:640:18) - In the upper left quadrant of the image, a ¼-inch extremely thin piece of paper is adhered to the surface. Rocks and Surf (66:640:19) - In raking light, superficial surface scratches are visible. Two Totems (66:640:26) - In raking light, there are surface scuffs visible in the sky. Three Totems (66:640:27) - In raking light, superficial surface scratches are visible. Lava Rocks (66:640:16) - There are cracks in the emulsion in the upper margin of the print. Rocks and Surf Inlet (66:640:21) - In raking light, superficial surface scratches are visible. Building Front - Family Diner (84:640:33) - There is a 1½-inch crack in the emulsion extending from the upper margin into the image. 'Brett Weston' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse. Writing on the reverse shows through in the margin on the verso. Rock Wall (66:640:11) - Impressions from numerical notations on the reverse of the print lightly show through when the print is examined in raking light. Tree Lichen (66:640:09) - On the reverse of the print, there are technical notations in pencil. Succulents on Rock (63:640:08) - In the bottom portion of the print, there is a small soft handling crease. 'Brett Weston' is written in ink on the reverse of the print. Roots (63:640:07) - In the center portion of the print, there is a small soft handling crease. 'Brett Weston' is written in ink on the reverse of the print. Roots and Succulents (63:640:06) - There is a ½-inch tear in the right margin of the print. 'Brett Weston' is written in ink on the reverse of the print. Succulents (63:640:05) - On the reverse of the print there is a 'Polaroid Collection' stamp, with credit 'Brett Weston' in pencil and ink. Profile of a Boy (63:640:02) - There is a ½-inch tear in the right margin of the print that extends slightly into the image. 'Brett Weston' is written in ink on the reverse. Rocks (63:640:04) - '16' and '130' are annotated in pencil in the bottom margin. 'Brett Weston' is written in ink on the reverse of the print. Cat on a Wall (66:640:12) - '.82%' is annotated in pencil in the margin. There are technical notations in pencil on the reverse.
