Condition

This photograph is in generally very good condition. In the lower left quadrant of the image, 3 tiny losses to the top layer of emulsion are visible. There is a deposit of original retouching, which appears to have turned a light greenish hue, in the lower right quadrant of the image. In high raking light, tiny deposits of original retouching and 2 faint horizontal surface scratches are visible along the left side of the image. The mat is hinged to the mount along the upper edge with paper tape. Karen Haas's and Rebecca Senf's book, 'Ansel Adams in the Lane Collection,' publishes the most comprehensive list to date of the studio stamps and labels Adams used throughout his career. The authors' assessment of the use dates of stamps 7 and 8 on the reverse of the print's mount is 1963 to 1970.
