Catalogue Note

The photogram offered here uses food that is standard fare in a typical art world lunch: fresh leafy greens and other vegetables, parsley, pasta, chopped olives, lemons slices, cherry tomatoes, grapes, and a glass of wine.  In contrast to the more proletarian meals that comprise part of Foodgrams #4 and #5 (Lots 196 and 39), the art world lunch is a gourmet repast signaling aspirations to sophistication and status.

The title 'Iconographic Art Lunch' is taken from similar foodgrams in the Robert Heinecken Trust.
