Catalogue Note
Otto Steinert fut un des personnages les plus importants dans l'avant-garde photographique dans l'Allemagne d'après-guerre. Avec sa photographie dite 'subjective', il s'opposait clairement au style conformiste de la photographie allemande des années 1930 et 40 installé sous le règne national-socialiste, et il forma, avec Peter Keetman (lot 81) et Heinz Hajek-Halke (lots 68 - 79), entre autres, le groupe 'fotoform', groupe de photographes travaillant uniquement en noir et blanc dans un style abstrait et austère, se basant sur l'esthétique de la photographie moderniste des années 1920.
