Description

  • steel, two with brass elements, on metal stands with perspex bases

Condition

Overall the condition of the padlocks and keys is good. There is dirt to the surfaces consistent with age. There are abrasions, minor dents and scratches to the surfaces consistent with age and handling. There is some oxidization to the metal of all of the padlocks and keys, particularly to the padlock with two knobs on the top and to the padlock with two keys. There are seven larger dents on the surface of the padlock with the key with a heart-shaped bow. The padlock with rococo brass side mounts has lost its second key and so the lock works only partially. It is unclear whether the padlock with two knobs on the top is operational. The padlock with the mask bolt-holder, the padlock with the key with heart-shaped bow and the lock with two keys are each fully operational. With the exception of the padlock with the key with heart-shaped bow, which has a base with a broken mount, the condition of the bases of the padlocks is good with some dirt and wear.
