STRUCTURE
The canvas has been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in good condition. There is a layer of surface dirt and discoloured varnish overall.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouching and infilling to craquelure overall. There are also repairs to four areas of damage. One large oval area in the upper left, two small tears in the lower centre, between the horse's legs, and one small tear in the upper right.

Held in a neo-classical style frame.
