Condition
The old damage canvas has been relined but old damages, holes and rips are still visible, as can be seen in the catalogue illustration and it is coming loose from its relining. Apart from these losses and damages the paint surface appears to be secure under a very dirty varnish. This painting would definitely benefit form a relining, a restoration of the damages and a clean.
Inspection under UV light reveals scattered old retouchings throughout.
