Condition
The single oak panel is flat, uncradled and unbevelled. The paint surface is extremely well preserved. There are a few very minor retouchings to the background and perhaps a little retouching to the shadowed folds of the jacket but otherwise the painting is largely untouched. The varnish is old and dirty and there is a thin layer of dirt. Sold with a modern gilt frame.
