With B. Koller, as by Georg Schütz (both the above according to labels on the reverse).
Condition
The actual painting is warmer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
The canvas has an old effective relining and stretcher marks are slightly visible to the front. The paint surface appears in good condition with some small retouchings in the sky and some minor strengthening in the trees. The paint surface is under slightly dirty layer of varnish and there is quite a coarse craquelure pattern. Inspection under UV light reveals a small repaired damage in the lower centre, a smaller one in the sky lower centre, and a few small recent retouchings in the cow, in the trees on the left, in the sky upper centre and along the lower and left edges.
Offered in a later plain gold painted wood frame with a few losses.
