Anton Faistenberger: The canvas has an old effective relining. No damages are apparent and the paint surface is secure, if somewhat abraded in the darker passages and in the foreground figures. The lighter tones have been nicely preserved. The paint surface is under a dirty varnish layer. A few scattered retouchings can be made out in the sky. Inspection under UV light reveals some tiny additional recent retouchings in the foreground figure and the figure on the right, in the sky and to the centre left, but further inspection is impeded by the dirty vanish. Offered in a decorative carved gilt wood frame in good condition. Follower of Francesco Zuccarelli: The canvas has an old effective relining with stretcher marks slightly visible to the front. There's frame abrasion along the upper and right edges, but otherwise, no damages are apparent. The paint surface is generally sound and under a dirty varnish layer. The impasto in the highlights is nicely preserved. A few scattered retouchings can be made out in the sky. Inspection under UV light is inconclusive due to the dirty varnish, but there are possibly some older retouchings underneath. Offered in a gilt carved wood frame in good condition.
