Condition

The single panel has a faint convex bow and is lightly bevelled to all but the upper sides. The paint surface is under a fairly clear layer of varnish. The paint layer appears well preserved with no major damages. Some small retouchings can be observed in the sky and in the mountains lower right. Inspection under UV light reveals more extensive areas of scattered retouching, in particular in the sky, the mountains and the sea, but minor ones and minor strengthening in the ship. Offered in a plain wood frame with gilt fillets and (faded) painted scroll leaf decorations in the corners in good condition.
