Condition
The actual painting is softer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
The single panel is flat and stable, and bevelled on all but the upper sides. There's a spot of paint loss in the upper left corner. The lower foreground and background are a little abraded and subsequent retouchings are visible to the naked eye.
Inspection under UV light reveals additional tiny scattered retouchings throughout.
The paint surface is under a dull and dirty varnish layer.
Offered in a decorative gilt plaster and wood frame, in fair condition.
