Condition
The painting is warmer and yellower in tone than the catalogue suggests. The canvas has quite a firm relining and is offered in a carved wooden frame in good condition. The painting is clean and to the naked eye appears in good condition with the impasto well preserved, particularly in the face and clothes. Inspection under UV light reveals very minor scattered retouchings, with a small restored tear in the background lower left, and confirms the overall good condition of this portrait.
