Condition

The painting's colours are more intense than the catalogue illustration suggests. The support consists of three vertical panels, the versos of which are not visible due to the reverse being sealed by another panel. The triptych is offered in a 19th-century frame in Gothic-Moorish style with fine architectural detailing and fake marble, as visible in the catalogue illustration, with some paint losses. The pinnacles are still attached and in good condition. The paint surface is abraded all over, as visible with the naked eye, with several areas of retouching, for example in the Virgin's cloak and in the female figure in the right panel. Along the lower edge of the central panel there is an area of paint loss along the Latin inscription. The gold ground is later in date. Inspection under UV light confirms the aforementioned restoration.
