Description

  • Francesco Bartolozzi
  • A pair of drawings: zepherus and flora and boreas and oreithyia
  • Both colored chalk and gouache

Provenance

Jeffrey E. Horvitz, his mark (not in Lugt)

Condition

The overall condition of these two drawings is good. The colors are fresh and the surfaces unrubbed. However, there are small damages in the sheet edges-- some small tears and nicks and some minor paper losses (a few restored). The paper itself has darkened somewhat overtime, but this is apparent only in the blank edges of the sheets and on the versos. There is also some light foxing. The drawings are in elaborate gilt grames-- the one visible in the illustration has been digitally cropped.
