The signed painting is marginally redder than the catalogue illustration suggests. The support consists of a single, flat stable panel which has been bevelled along three edges (not the right edge). The paint surface is secure with the impasto well preserved in the details of the fruit and leaves, but is dirty and under a discoloured varnish. With the naked eye minor frame abrasion is apparent, as well as some minor surface scuffs lower and upper left, and some small discoloured retouchings upper left and very minor losses centre right. The green carpet lower left is abraded with some old, discoloured retouchings on it, and has lost its definition. The thick varnish hinders thorough examination with UV light, though the aforementioned retouchings can be made out, as well as strenghtenings along the edge of the glass in the background and centre right and lower centre, as well as to the edges of the glass centre left. The painting would benefit from removal of the present varnish and a light clean. Offered in a later, painted gold wooden frame, in good condition.
