Description
- A Still Life with a bowl of strawberries on a ledge
- oil on panel
Condition
The stable support consists of a single panel which has been bevelled along the lower and left hand edge. The panel has a very slight convex bow to the right hand side of the painting.
The paint surface is secure and clean, with a fine craquelure running throughout.
Inspection under UV light does not reveal any retouching or strengthening work to the painting; proper inspection is impeded by the glossy varnish which covers the paint surface. However, under raking light, old retouchings can be made out along some frame abrasion along the upper and left hand edges and furthermore some retouchings to the centre left hand side of the painting.
The painting is clean, in good condition and is offered unframed.
