Provenance

The Artist's sale, London, Christie's, 8-15 May 1874, to the grandfather of the late owner

Condition

The pencil has remained strong and fresh. The sheet has suffered from very minor discolouration and foxing. The work has not been laid down but is attached to the backboard at the four corners.
