Provenance

Ivan Trangott, Stockholm (according to an old inscription and old label on the reverse);
His sale, Stockholm, Bukowskis, 16-19 October 1958, lot 178 as Renesse, where sold as 'the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant'.

Condition

The support consists of two vertical panels with a very slight convex bow. The paint surface is in good condition with a small loss upper left and along the panel join, retaining much of its original impasto under a dirty varnish. Inspection under UV light reveals some minor old scattered retouchings. Offered in a gilt wood frame.
