Condition
The canvas has been relined.
There is an old vertical canvas join running across the right hand side of the painting as visible in the catalogue illustration.
The paint surface is secure, if a little abraded, especially in the darker areas and under a dirty varnish.
Old discoloured retouching work is visible to the naked eye along the aforementioned join and this is confirmed under UV light which also reveals some minor scattered work elsewhere.
Offered in a wooden frame in good condition.
