Condition
STRUCTURE
The canvas has been lined and cut to the frame edge. The canvas is peeling away from its lining along the left and upper edge and both the canvas and the relining have sagged on the stretcher
PAINT SURFACE
There is a very dirty and discoloured varnish overall and there has been abrasion to the paint overall
ULTRAVIOLET
Due to the opacity of the varnish, it is not possible to read the condition of the paint below with Ultra Violet light through there are no apparent recent retouchings
FRAME
Held in a carved and gilded wood frame.
