Description
- the Holy Trinity with the Virgin Mary, angels and a donatrix
- oil on panel
Condition
The tone of the original is very slightly less blue than it appears in the catalogue illustration.
The stable support consists of three vertical panels joined to the reverse with small batons and horse hair. There are two vertical splits running down from the top margin, the longest of which is upper left, approximately 40cm, visible on the front and joined to the reverse with a small vertical baton.
The paint surface is secure apart from minor losses in the aforementioned left split and along the lower half of the right hand panel join, and under a fairly dirty, old varnish.
Some fairly minor old retouching work is visible to the naked eye and this is confirmed under UV light.
Offered unframed.
