Simon de Vos painted a number of other versions of this subject, all compositionally slightly different, including a painting of the same size sold Amsterdam, Sotheby's, 1st December 2009, lot 19 for € 82,000. The closest version to the present lot is the slightly smaller panel in the Spencer collection at Althorp.
