Catalogue Note

Two very similar original versions by Barocci are known: in the Uffizi, Florence (122 by 91 cm.), and the Alte Pinakothek, Munich (256 by 185 cm.) 1The Sparre copy may tentatively be attributed on the grounds of style to Barocci's follower Antonio Viviani, II Sordo.
The stretcher bears an old label: No57/ Federico Barroccio f.
