Condition

Wear consistent with age and use within the culture. Beautiful encrusted honey patina. A: Both sides of the tip/'base' of the pendant broken and glued - as visible in the catalogue illustration -, probably repaired. B: Good condition overall; small cracks and tiny chips.

Catalogue Note

a. komé, de très beau volume, la nervure médiane en haut relief se prolongeant sur le "pied" balustre triangulaire. Selon Bognolo (2007 : 135), cet ornement est "considéré comme le plus puissant des pendentifs de Bàbà - objet de protection que seuls les grands chasseurs teésé, fondateurs de la branche mère du culte, pouvaient arborer".
