Catalogue Note
Cet ornement tautau, d'une superbe élégance, se distingue par sa taille exceptionnelle, par la pureté de sa forme et par la beauté de la pierre très finement marbrée. Une petite plaque métallique sur la boîte mentionne : "This Tangewai carved by Maori chief Parah Taranaki, New Zealand is supposed to be the finest specimen extant brought over 1888". Excellent état de conservation de cet ornement datant probablement du XVIIIe siècle.
