Provenance
Dr. Einar Martens was a violinist in the Harmonien in Bergen, which later became the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. He sold the violin to Arve Arvesen, the director of the Bergen Music Conservatory. The violin passed from Arvesen to his pupil Trygve Kayser, in 1942, and from Kayser to the present owner in 1989.
