Catalogue Note
Judith Weir CBE is one of the foremost British composers. Her compositions reflect her interest in story-telling and in folk-music of different traditions. This amusing work also suggests a narrative and was first performed at the Purcell Room on 29 March 2006. Weir's "All the Ends of the Earth" was given at the BBC Proms this year on 4 September, and her "Ascending into Heaven" was given last year.
