The painting is in good condition, as is the canvas and the board it is laid upon. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a few spots of retouching on the upper and lower edges, as well as on the river area in the lower register (on the left, just between the hanging branches, and on the right, a few tiny flecks on the water reflection of the huts). They are visible only under UV light. A thin horizontal line of retouching is also indicated on the lower right. The paint layers are intact. The colours of the actual painting are brighter, less blue-toned and more yellow toned in reality. In the actual painting the sky is particularly more cream with a slight hint of yellow tint, as is the river, and the foliage has a fresher yellowish undertone.
