The modified rectangular silver dial with Arabic numerals and blued steel hands, within an openwork plaque depicting birds set with buff-top onyxs, sapphires, citrines and rubies, the dial bordered by buff-top amethysts, within a ground of old European-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.60 carats, the crown set with a cabochon teal blue glass segment, completed by a leather strap faced with black satin, the white gold clasp set with small round diamonds, manual movement, internal circumference 5½ inches, movement signed Longines and numbered 3958329, inside case numbered 3958329, clasp with French assay marks and maker's mark, one citrine missing.

Condition

Currently running, movement signed Longines, numbered 3958329 on movement and inner caseback. Small circ not adjustable, strap and clasp probably not original (or crown) The strap signed Charles Oudin, Paris. The silvered dial is tarnished. The watch case and the diamond and colored stone casing plaque are platinum, but the later added double-deployant buckle is 18k white gold, stamped with French assay marks for 18k gold, and maker's mark Ste + harp + E. The sides of the platinum casing are stamped with partial French export marks, maker's initials possibly D + B?; and are engraved with an elaborate foliate pattern centering heraldic peacocks; 3 buff-topped calibre-cut citrines and 2 buff-topped calibre-cut sapphires are missing; the penguin's eyes are set with 2 small seed pearls; diamonds are a mix of old-European cut, single-cut and round, approximately E-G color, VVS-VS clarity. The watch is presently running, however please refer to Important Notices regarding Condition of Watches as printed in the back of the catalogue.
