The pendant depicting the Birth of Venus with her bust supported on a diamond-set starfish, the white diamond star an allusion to Venus as the white star in the night sky, framed by an openwork floral motif accented by peach and yellowish-green enamel, supporting a pearl drop measuring approximately 7.9 by 6.8 mm., completed by a fancy gold link chain with small plaques of similar design to the pendant, set throughout with old European-cut, single-cut and rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.50 carats, length 22 inches, unsigned, French assay mark. Accompanied by a fitted box signed Tiffany & Cie.
Condition
Set with 115 old European-cut, single-cut and rose-cut diamonds, pearl not tested for origin. Slight loss to enamel on the nose, but overall in very good condition. The pearl drop possibly replaced or later added. Pendant originally designed for a pin attachment. Together with a fitted box signed Tiffany & Cie., possibly retailed by Tiffany & Co.
