Description

  • silver, gold, natural pearl, diamond, necklace, earclips
The necklace composed of natural pearls supporting a graduated fringe of natural pearl drops measuring approximately 13.62 by 10.75 mm. to 5.55 by 4.81 mm., set throughout with rose-cut and old mine diamonds, length 15½ inches, the earclips supporting natural pearl pendants measuring approximately 10.52 by 9.71 mm. and 10.25 by 9.98 mm., surmounted by natural pearls measuring approximately 6.75 and 6.35 mm., and accented by rose-cut diamonds.

Condition

Accompanied by GIA report 2125743820 stating that the necklace contains natural pearls, saltwater, and GIA report 5121743825 stating that the earclips contain natural pearls, saltwater. The pendant pearls in the necklace are slightly more grey overall than in the catalogue, but have great luster and rose overtones, most have rather flat backs but lay well on the neck as a result. Diamonds are near colorless and some with faint brown hues, approximately VS to SI clarity in general. The tongue of the clasp is stamped with the French import mark for silver (in use from 1893 to 1970) indicating a minimum standard of 800 for items from a non-treaty county, also stamped ET for objects in silver and gold (in use from 1864-1893) for items from a non-treaty county. The earrings were modified with later added clip backs (probably originally were wires for pierced ears. The silver mountings are tarnished due to oxidization over time, a desired patina).

Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
