Description
- silver, gold, diamond, natural pearl, necklace
Set at the front with a graduated fringe supporting natural pearls measuring approximately 8.80 mm. to 5.26 mm., the fringe set with small old mine and rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.55 carats, supported by a graduated necklace set with old mine diamonds weighing approximately 16.70 carats, length 13¼ inches, fringe detachable.
Condition
Good condition with overall wear commensurate with age. A portion of the backchain has recently been cleaned (as seen in catalogue illustration), temporarily removing the patina/tarnish from the silver-topped gold. The 34 larger old mine diamonds are approximately H-J color with some of the largest examples approximately K-M color; predominantly SI clarity. The 129 smaller old mine and rose-cut diamonds are approximately near colorless and decorative in quality. The 10 pearl drops appear to be partially drilled and are mounted on fluted backings (partially visible in catalogue illustration); some glue apparent and two pearls are starting to separate from their mountings. The 4 button-shaped pearls are drilled and mounted on links. The semi-baroque pearls generally decorative in quality with ringing, wrinkling and noduling typical to the type. Good to waxy luster. Body color ranges from silvery to creamy white with varying degrees of pink, green and purple overtones. The fringe is detachable, allowing the necklace to be worn as a simple rivière. Fitted with a safety chain. Accompanied by GIA report no. 5121636607 stating natural pearls, saltwater.
