- ENAMEL, SEED PEARL, YELLOW GOLD
Of Victorian style, the lorgnette featuring an oval multi-coloured enamel painting depicting a dancing lady, framed by a band of seed pearls, to an elaborate gold carving surround, similarly decorated to the reverse, mounted in 18 karat yellow gold, French assay marks, 17 seed pearls deficient.
Condition
Condition: The lorgnette is probably dated back to 1870, with French assay marks. Several tiny seed pearls are deficient. Surface abrasions and pits on the enamel paint, observed only upon loupe check and reflected light. Normal abrasions to the metal and scratches on lens, commensurate with age and use, overall in good condition.
