Description

  • EMERALD, RUBY, DIAMOND, SILVER TOPPED WHITE AND YELLOW GOLD
Modelled as a sword, centring on a step-cut emerald weighing approximately 2.10 carats, embellished by a cushion-shaped rose-cut diamond, oval rubies and a pear-shaped emerald, decorated throughout by rose- and old-cut diamonds of colourless, yellow and brown hues, completed by a link-chain spectacle-set with old-cut diamonds, length approximately 510mm; the diamonds together weighing approximately 3.30 carats, mounted in silver topped white and yellow gold, one diamond deficient.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the principle emerald is of bright, medium strong green colour, eye clean, probably with only insignificant to minor clarity enhancement. Rubies are about medium strong purplish-red to purple red colour, slightly included to naked eyes. The largest rose-cut diamond weighs over half-a-carat, of about J colour, SI1 clarity. Other near-colourless rose-cut and old circular-cut diamonds are mostly I to K colours, SI clarity. The five coloured circular-cut diamonds are probably of light to fancy light brownish yellow colour, SI to I clarity. Condition: One tiny rose-cut diamond is deficient, but not noticeable unless close check. The 'sword' pendant is probably circa 1900 with later replaced gemstones. Overall, the pendant necklace shows moderate tarnishing and surface abrasions to the mount, commensurate with age, in good condition.
