Description

  • RUBY, PLATINUM
Each centring on a circular-cut ruby weighing 3.51 and 3.25 carats respectively, surrounded by tiers of brilliant-cut diamonds altogether weighing approximately 6.00 carats, signed and numbered 1125 and 1126.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to Gübelin report, the rubies are natural, of Burmese origin, with no indication of heating. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the rubies are matching, of very strong to vivid, very slightly purplish red to red colour, very clean to naked eyes and lively. Upon 10x loupe, both rubies are very clean, with only a few minor surface chips along girdle or on crown, not seen to naked eyes and not affect the brilliance. Diamonds are about E to F colours, VVS to VS clarity. Signed "Cartier Paris" and numbered. Condition: Pair of classic ear clips, in very good condition, almost as new.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
