Description

  • Plaque approximately 35.70 x 26.03 x 5.73mm.
The jadeite plaque of emerald green colour and fine translucency, carved as a lotus leaf, embraced by a lotus vine set with brilliant-cut diamonds on one side, surmounted by a trio of rose-cut diamonds, accompanied by a link chain necklace, mounted in 18 karat white gold, length approximately 400mm.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to the Jadeite Jade Testing Certificate, the carved jadeite 'lily-pad' is natural, type A jadeite jade. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the jadeite is highly translucent, of soft emerald green colour. Upon close check, there are some white clouds, not seen when worn. Diamonds are about G to H colours, VS clarity, together weighing approximately 1.00 carat. Condition: The pendant is reversible, in mint condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory certificate numbered SJ 8119, dated 13 January 2010, stating that the jadeite is natural, known in the trade as "A Jade".
