Description

  • COLOUR-CHANGE SAPPHIRE, COLOURED SAPPHIRE, DIAMOND, WHITE GOLD
Centring on an oval colour-changing sapphire weighing 12.93 carats, amid a bombé surround of conforming shape decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds and circular-cut coloured sapphires of blue and pink hues, the shoulders pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, the diamonds and coloured sapphires together weighing approximately 1.65 and 8.50 carats, mounted in 18 karat white gold.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to SSEF report, the colour-change sapphire is natural, of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the sapphire displays a distinct colour change from bluish-purple hue in incandescent light to blue in daylight; slightly included to naked eyes, which shows a fingerprint close to the side under 10x loupe. The coloured sapphires are of medium purple-pink and blue colour, eye clean. Diamonds are about H to I colours, VS to SI clarity. Condition: In mint condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
