Description

  • Nardi
  • CHALCEDONY, EMERALD, RUBY, DIAMOND, YELLOW GOLD
Modelled as a blackamoor portrait, the delicately carved black chalcedony head, adorned with amantilla veil and coat of pierced and textured gold design, decorated with diamonds, rubies and emeralds, mounted in 18 karat yellow gold, signed.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the carved chalcedony is probably agate, with translucent clarity showing colour banding upon transmitted light. Right-hand side of the blackamoor head is very dark brown colour. Emeralds are medium light green and rubies are deep red, slightly included to naked eyes. Diamonds are commercial quality and included. Signed to the reverse. Condition: This brooch is offered without reserve. Very fine workmanship, overall in very good condition.

Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
