Description
The rectangular engine-turned case embellished with calibré-cut sapphires, the lid decorated with a coronet set with cabochon and circular-cut sapphires, opening to reveal a mirror, a lipstick holder and two powder compartments, measurments approximately 90 x 55 x 10mm, indistinctly signed Van Cleef & Arpels and numbered, French assay and maker's marks.
Condition
Stamped with French assay marks and 750 for gold, indistinctly signed Van Cleef above mirror on the right and numbered, above mirror on the left numbered HSA 2544, below right compartment numbered 63680. Sapphires well matched in colour, some nicks and abrasion to facet edges, some stones chipped mainly around the corners of the case. Few dents to the bottom of the right compartment and to engine turned lid and base. Scratches and minor tarnish to the metal. Overall in good condition.
