Description
Comprising: a large bow brooch set with oval cabochon simulated turquoise and turquoise between borders and accents of rose diamonds, together with five smaller bow brooches similarly set, three decorated to the centre with a circular-cut diamond, mounted in silver and gold, later alterations.
Condition
Lot 232 from The Thurn und Taxis Collection auction that took place on 17th November 1992 also originally included a necklace and a pair of bracelets. Metal tested as silver and gold. Some fittings stamped with French assay and import marks. Reverse of bow jewels engraved with scroll motifs. Several alterations to reverse, more recent pins and backs. Some cabochons discoloured, a few scratches and nicks, a few cabochons chipped. A few marks of glue at the back. A few rose-cut diamonds deficient. Some solder marks, tarnish and normal signs of wear to the metal, consistent with age. Overall in good condition.
