Description
The lapis lazuli case embellished to each side with reeded rock crystal and lapis lazuli details, square-cut and baguette diamonds, opening to reveal a mirror, a lipstick holder and two powder compartments, measurements approximately 86 x 40 x 20 mm, signed Janesich and numbered, French assay marks, London import marks.
Condition
Stamped with French assay marks and 18 for gold, British import hallmarks for London 1929, numbered N°15547 on frame of the mirror, 9241 on the lipstick holder. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 1.10 carats in total, bright and lively. Lapis lazuli of typical rich blue colour with some mottling and pyrite specks, some surface reaching inclusions, a few minor scratches and nicks. Rock crystal with minor nicks and scratches. Some tarnish to mirror. Minor tarnish and scratches to gold consistent with use and age. Well preserved, in good condition.
