Yellow gold, ruby and diamond wristwatch, Cartier, circa 1940

The front studded with single- and circular-cut diamonds and cabochon rubies, opening to reveal a rectangular cream dial with numeral indicators, bordered by stylised pilaster elements, to a sprung brick link strap, mounted in yellow gold and platinum, circumference approximately 155mm, dial signed Cartier, case numbered, strap numbered, French assay marks.

Ruby of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece may contain ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Stamped with French assay marks for platinum and gold, signed Cartier on the dial and numbered 9358 to the back of the case. Normal signs of wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use and age. Well preserved and in good condition.
