Condition
Laid down on mount at edges, which has caused some slight discolouration at the margins. Otherwise the sheet is clear and fresh, the watercolour very strong and in excellent condition.

Catalogue Note
One of the most important ancestors of all modern roses, this is now known as Rosa chinensis 'Slater's Crimson'. It is widely grown in warm climates and is the source of the bright red colour taken for granted in modern horticulture.
