Condition
Laid down at edges to mount, which has caused slight discolouration at the edges. There are some very tiny, pale spot stains near the lower edge, but otherwise the sheet is clear and in excellent condition.

Catalogue Note
Now known as Rosa x dupontii, after its raiser, André du Pont (1756 - 1817). Du Pont was head gardener to the Empress Josephine at Malmaison and founded the famous rose collection at the Jardins du Luxembourg, Paris. He is also known for pioneering the creation of new roses by artificial pollination. See also lot 61.
