This canvas has been lined and the paint layer has been cleaned, retouched and varnished fairly recently. The retouches have been applied to address some small paint losses situated above the seated figure, between the heads of the figures in green and also above their heads. There are a couple of restorations also in the upper right, one in the cheek of the standing woman on the left and some in a few places in the pink dress of the seated woman. The restorations are quite apparent under ultraviolet light but they are isolated and have been fairly well applied. Although the restorations could be improved, the painting could also be hung as is. This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.
