Condition

The wood construction was in excellent condition. The paint was tightly bound and in very good condition. All of the dowels were well secured to the panel and accounted for. Two of the twelve wooden dowels displayed dimensional cracking, which was characteristic of aged wood. The tips of the dowels were rough and uneven which was part of the artist's intent. A hairline crack was detected around the circumference of the large central dowel where it came in contact with the panel. The crack appeared stable and most likely was a settling crack. The background panel appeared in very good condition. No damage in the form of losses, scratches or abrasions was noted on the sculpture. The construction was structurally sound.
