Condition

The sculpture is in very good condition considering its age and the fragility of the material. The wood displays numerous vertical dimensional cracks that run with the grain that are characteristic of aged wood. These cracks appear old and stable. The dark stain on the wood appears rubbed along some of the edges and in particular on the element that protrudes out and down from the surface not far from the top. The wooden form rests on top of a stone base that has been painted black. The sculpture is structurally sound with no significant damage evident on the surface.
